LINDEN—Mrs. Lala A. Martin, 82, was fatally stricken at 10:30 p.m. Saturday at her home, Rt. 1, Linden. She was a life resident of the community. Born in this county March 15, 1886, she was a daughter of Thomas and Camella Ward Wilkins. She married Raymond B. Martin on Oct. 9, 1907. He died Nov. 12, 1962. Surviving are a son, Ross, and daughter-in-law, Mary Rose, of Rt. 1, New Richmond; two grandchildren, Mrs. Anita Hopper of West Lafayette and Miss Rhonda Martin, at home; a great-grandson, Jeffery R. Hopper; a brother, Ward of Linden, and nieces and nephews. Mrs. Martin was a member of Linden-Kirkpatrick United Methodist Church, WSCS, Oriental Chapter 244 of OES and American Legion Auxiliary. She was a graduate of the old Linden High School and attended DePauw University. Funeral rites are set for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Helms Funeral Chapel, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Rev. Dale M. Wilson will officiate, with burial in Linden Cemetery.

LINDEN--Services were held Wednesday for Mrs. Lala A. Martin at the Helms Funeral Home with Rev. Dale M. Wilson of the Linden-Kirkpatrick Methodist Church officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Lloyd Faust, LaVerne Lutes, Ralph Little, Robert Royer, Robert Vail and Tim Guard. Mrs. Betty Edwards played "The Old Rugged Cross" and "The End Of A Perfect Day."
